An atmospheric bar with six cask ales

Great care has been taken to retain the unique and very special ‘pub’ atmosphere, which the Rat Inn is famous for, part of its appeal is that the Rat is still very much a village local.

Real ale of the highest quality is something we pride ourselves on, take a seat in the cosy bar where a fine black cast iron range blazes away; choose from a fine range of ales from local microbreweries, which are rotated regularly alongside a Wylam Brewery beer and Timothy Taylors Landlord. Or, choose from an interesting and carefully chosen wine list with 12 bins offered by the glass, including champagne!

Enjoy the craic with the locals or choose from a selection of daily papers to pass the time.

In warmer weather, why not spend an evening enjoying a drink in the stunning beer garden and the spectacular views across the Tyne Valley?
