Kevin Maclean head chef

Kevin joined us as Head Chef  in June 2015 from the Three Chimneys restaurant, Isle of Skye, where he was Head Chef, working with Executive Chef and Great British Menu winner Michael Smith.

Following a phenomenal ten years culminating in the award of a Michelin star in 2014, Kevin headed south to join us at the Rat.

Kevin enjoys cooking with the best quality and freshest seasonal ingredients, with as much sourced from the nearby Northumbrian countryside as possible.
