December Seasonal Menu 2016

Planning a festive get together with friends,family or colleagues? Menus at The Rat are always seasonal and delicious with a strong regional influence due to sourcing as much of our produce from the lush Northumbrian landscape as possible.

To start

Celeriac and sage soup

Pork and prune terrine,apple chutney and toast

Creamed goats cheese with roasted beets,Jerusalem Artichoke,chicory,orange and walnuts

Mussel.winter vegetable and saffron broth,Harissa yoghurt

Mains

Northumbrian roast turkey with all the trimmings

Pan fried pheasant breast and fricasse of leg with chestnut mash,braised red cabbage,crispy bacon and salsify

Roast hake fillet,Anna potatoes,kale,quince,parsnip and vanilla

Roast butternut squash and brussel sprout potato cake,cumin roast carrots,poached egg and pomegranate

Puddings

Dark chocolate ganache with clementine and almonds

Brandy custard tart,Christmas pudding ice cream

Warm gingerbread with caramelised pear and stem ginger

WE ARE NOW TAKING BOOKINGS FOR OUR FESTIVE FIVE COURSE CHRISTMAS DAY LUNCH WITH ONE SITTING AT  MIDDAY.ALSO TAKING BOOKINGS FOR NEW YEARS EVE  CELEBRATORY MEAL WITH THE USUAL FIREWORKS TO SEE IN THE NEW YEAR.
